Special welding electrode for stainless and heat-resistant steels

AMA 1803J

AWS/ASME SFA – 5.4 : ~E 307–15 (mod.)
DIN 8556 : E 18 8 Mn B 20+
Comparable No. of material : 1.4370
prEN 1600 : E 18 8 Mn B 42

Application/properties:

Eectrode for welding of dissimilar steels and for surfacing purposes. The weld metal consists of austenitic Cr-Ni-steel with possible small amounts of delta-ferrite; it is non-scaling up to 850°C. It features high resistance to cracking and is therefore indicated for difficult-to-weld steels and depositing stress-relaxing buffer layers on crack sensitive base metal or beneath hard-facing deposits. Highest temperature of dissimilar steel joints is +300°C; at higher temperatures AMA 1604G electrode shall be used. Weld metal will work harden.
